Overview

What Shopify store development for the UAE involves

Shopify store development means designing the storefront, building or customising the theme, setting up products, payments, shipping and taxes, connecting analytics, and testing the whole purchase path before launch. For a UAE store the work differs from a generic setup in four places: language and layout direction, payment methods, tax display and delivery expectations.

We are an agency based in Udaipur, India, and we deliver UAE projects remotely. The UAE is 90 minutes behind India, so calls, reviews and approvals happen inside the same working day. This page explains what a UAE-focused Shopify build covers, what to decide early and how we run the project.

What is different about selling online in the UAE

Language comes first. Many UAE shoppers read in English, Arabic or both, and a store that only offers one will lose some of them. Shopify supports multiple languages and right-to-left themes, but the quality depends on the theme. Menus, product galleries, sliders and checkout badges must mirror correctly in Arabic, and Arabic fonts must be chosen for readability, not only appearance. We build the layout once with both directions in mind instead of patching Arabic on afterwards. We have built a bilingual Arabic and English B2B website for a trading company, so mirrored layouts and Arabic typography are not new to our team.

Payments need a deliberate choice. At the time of writing, Shopify Payments is not offered to UAE merchants, so a store connects a third-party gateway. Stripe, Checkout.com, Telr, Tap and Network International are commonly considered, and each differs in settlement time, fees, supported cards and wallet options. Shopify may add its own transaction fee when you use an external gateway, depending on your plan. Availability and pricing change, so we confirm current terms with each provider before we recommend one. Many UAE stores also still offer cash on delivery, which means your order flow needs a way to confirm COD orders and handle refused deliveries.

Tax and currency are straightforward but must be right. VAT in the UAE has a standard rate of 5 percent, and shoppers usually expect to see prices that already include it. The dirham is pegged to the US dollar, so AED pricing is stable, but you should still decide whether to sell in AED only or also show USD to international visitors. Invoices, shipping zones and any customs treatment for imported goods depend on your business set-up, so confirm them with your accountant or a licensed adviser. Why choose IPrix Media

Why UAE brands work with IPrix Media

Most agencies sell activity. We are built around outcomes you can see in your own analytics.

Shopify-specific delivery

We have built and run Shopify stores for D2C brands, so we know the platform limits and which apps are worth their cost.

Speed over app clutter

We replace unnecessary apps with small custom features, because every extra script slows the checkout path.

Clear scope and honest timelines

You get a written scope and milestone dates. If a requirement changes the plan, we tell you before the work starts.

Our team also builds WordPress, WooCommerce and Next.js sites, so we can advise when Shopify is not the right fit.

How a UAE Shopify project runs

  1. Discovery call and audit

We learn your products, customers, delivery model and the platforms you use today, and review any existing store.

  2. Plan and design

You approve the page structure and a clickable design in English and Arabic before development begins.

  3. Build and integrate

We build the theme, add products and collections, connect payments, shipping and tracking, and migrate data if needed.

  4. Test orders and review

We run test orders for each payment method, delivery zone and language, then walk you through the store on a call.

  5. Launch and support

We launch, watch the first orders and fix issues quickly. Ongoing support and optimisation are available monthly.

Practical information before you start

Timeline

A focused store with a single language usually takes three to five weeks. A bilingual build with custom sections, migration and several payment methods takes longer, and we give you a dated plan after the discovery call.

What affects the budget

Cost depends on the number of templates, languages, custom features, products to import, integrations and migration work. We do not publish fixed prices because scope varies widely, and we send a written estimate after we understand your requirements.

What we need from you

Brand assets, product data, your payment and shipping choices, and a decision-maker who can review designs within a few days. Translations are best supplied or approved by a native speaker.

FAQs

Shopify Store Development in the UAE: common questions

Straight answers to what businesses ask before they hire an agency.

Can you build a Shopify store in Arabic and English?

Yes. We use a theme that supports right-to-left layouts, translate templates and checkout messages, and test both directions on mobile and desktop. Final copy should be reviewed by a native Arabic speaker.

Does Shopify support cash on delivery in the UAE?

Shopify lets you add a manual payment method such as cash on delivery. We set it up with rules for eligible areas and order amounts, and add a confirmation step so refused deliveries do not pile up.

Which payment gateway should a UAE store use?

It depends on your business type, card mix and settlement needs. Stripe, Checkout.com, Telr, Tap and Network International are common candidates. We compare current fees and terms with you and connect the one you choose.

Do you have an office in the UAE?

No. IPrix Media is based in Udaipur, India, and works with UAE clients remotely through video calls, shared boards and overlapping working hours.

Can you move my existing store to Shopify without losing SEO?

Yes. We map old URLs to new ones, set up 301 redirects, carry over titles and descriptions and check indexing after launch. Rankings can still move for a while after any migration.

How do I get started?
